Exposing the Truths of Opioid Addiction

Advocating for Opioid Awareness by Providing Accessible Information

In today’s world, spreading media is easier than ever before. Never has information been so accessible and with this, arises a new problem of misinformation. My goal is to clear the fog hiding the truth by outlining reliable information and discussing not only the aspects of addiction, but the politics centralized around it.

Furthermore, I want to emphasize the misconceptions regarding addicts by offering a in-depth and unique perspective of addicts, volunteers, and other personnel involved in any aspect of this crisis. This is the centerpiece of this project because it allows us to vicariously live through the words of the people who know best.

Finally, the last aspect of this project is to provide a hub for resources directed towards any person involved with the opioid crisis. Resources to help addicts, those whose family or friends are addicts, ways to get involved, and a plethora of other sources of information to aid in the spread of awareness.

What This Website Offers

Informative Blog

An updated source to provide concrete information, discuss the politics and views on the many mindsets in regards to the opioid crisis, and updated policy briefs and dissections. This will include common demographics of addicts, types of opioids, misconceptions, overdose medication, and the events that lead up to the crisis involving pharmaceutical companies.

Perspectives of Those Involved

This would be a periodic blog of an interview with someone who provides valuable insight, as well as being a platform for those who are struggling to share their voices. I plan to involve addicts, experts and leaders of the field, nurses/doctors who can provide insight, and other people affected by this problem.

Resources

A single place for all valuable resources, foundations, and information for addicts and those involved. This will include information for families and friends, those who want to take steps to get involved, and organizations you can reach out to.
